Fresh Lemonade

Recipe From: Southern Living Magazine
Serves: 6

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup boiling water
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh lemon juice, approximately 6 to 8 large lemons
  • 5 cups cold water
  • fresh lemon slices
  1. Stir together sugar and 1/2 cup boiling water until sugar dissolves. Stir in lemon juice and 5 cups cold water.
  2. Chill and garnish with fresh lemon slices.


NOTE:
To make limeade, substitute fresh lime juice for lemon juice.

  1. Hi Tammy, here is my Moms version of a quick and easy summer drink instead of Lemonade, try this 3 citrus cooler. Use one each of the small cans of frozen Lemonade, Tangerine, and Limeade juices. (I use pink lemonade but use whatever is handy!) Add about 1/2 a can less water per item than the can instructions indicate, and then load the pitcher up with ice cubes. OR if you make this ahead, add water as per can instructions, then freeze some of the prepared drink to add back in as ice cubes!
    Serve on a hot day!
